About Me
I obtained my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and my M.A. in Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary. In addition, I am a Professor of Psychology at Concordia University, Irvine and a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Newport Beach with extensive experience working with both inpatient and outpatient populations.
I approach each individual as a bio-psycho-social-spiritual being. I believe that each of these aspects of the self need examination and healing in order to promote growth and well-being. I implement the use of warmth, empathy, and genuineness with each of my clients and believe that the therapeutic relationship can be an instrumental tool in resolving human problems. I currently offer individual adult, adolescent and couples therapy. I also offer pre-enagement and pre-marital counseling.
One of my particular interests is the integration of psychology and theology. Both psychology and theology hold important answers about human nature and behavior and can greatly complement each other in order to provide a more complete approach to healing the whole person. I work from a Christian perspective and integrate my theological beliefs with contemporary analytic and existential psychological theory. More information on my particular approach to the integration of theology and psychology is available in detail on my links page.
It is important to me that you receive the best care you can find and we work together to make sure that your needs are being met in the best possible manner.
